Are you financially savvy, detail-oriented, and motivated to contribute to a purpose-driven professional community? ICF Netherlands is seeking a Treasurer to oversee the financial health, compliance, and sustainability of our chapter.
This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring sound financial management and governance, while collaborating with a committed and professional Board. In this role, you will provide financial oversight, ensure accurate record-keeping, maintain a balanced budget, and support compliance with ICF and regulatory requirements.
You will work closely with the Board, bookkeeper, and relevant stakeholders to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with both ICF Global standards and Dutch legal frameworks.

Your Key Responsibilities:
- Promote ICF Vision, Mission, Values, and Strategic Plan initiatives
- Complete ICF Volunteer Leader Training within 3 months of appointment
- Attend the ICF Global Leadership Forum, monthly Board meetings, and chapter events
- Serve as a voting member of the Board and uphold Board-adopted policies and programs
- Oversee all chapter funds, bank accounts, and financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Coordinate invoicing, collection of dues and fees, and timely payment of obligations
- Prepare and present Treasurer Summary Reports to the Board (quarterly)
- Develop and maintain the annual budget; monitor income and expenses with variance analysis
- Advise the Board on financial implications of strategic decisions and recommend revenue strategies
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, tax requirements, permits, and ICF financial reporting obligations
- Maintain oversight of financial agreements and selected vendor contracts (e.g. major event venues)
- Liaise closely with the bookkeeper on reconciliations, reporting, and operational financial processes
- Coordinate outsourced financial processes, including annual insurance premium collections (BAV)
- Engage with the Kas Commissie (audit committee equivalent) twice per year to support approval of the annual report and upcoming budget prior to General Assembly submission
- Coordinate with Board members, membership, and administrators on financial matters
- Contribute to oversight of GDPR compliance, data protection practices, and cybersecurity considerations related to financial and member data
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the President or Board
What We’re Looking For:
- Background in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Experience managing organizational budgets and financial reporting
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
- Ability to understand and engage with legal, compliance, and regulatory matters
- Proactive, reliable, and able to translate financial data into clear insights
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to volunteer leadership
Other:
- Fluency in English and Dutch preferred (spoken and written)
- Ability to read and understand Dutch for legal and reporting purposes
- Active ICF Global member in good standing (required)
- Signed and submitted Chapter Leader Pledge (required)
Your Commitment & Timeline:
- Time Commitment: ~8–12 hours per month (plus meetings and events)
- Term: 2 years (renewable)
