Collective Insurance for ICF Netherlands Members

Members of ICF Netherlands have the benefit and option to voluntarily participate in a collective Professional Liability (BAV) and Business Liability (AVB) insurance policy.

This insurance is not mandatory. It is offered exclusively to members affiliated with ICF Netherlands who have their coaching business registered in the Netherlands.

The collective policy is arranged by ICF Netherlands and underwritten by Hiscox through surance agent Kendall Mason.

  • Annual premium: € 82,50 (price level is for 2026)
  • Insurance year: 1 January – 31 December
  • The policy becomes effective from the moment your enrollment is accepted by Kendall Mason / insurance company Hiscox.
  • Please note the premium is an annual premium that needs to be paid in full – it is not calculated pro rata.

    The policy is issued once; a copy certificate can be requested via the insurance agent (info@kendallmason.nl) for € 12,99 (including VAT) administrative fee.

    ICF Netherlands pays the premium to Hiscox and collects the premium from participating members via direct debit.

Professional Liability (BAV)

€ 1.250.000 per claim

€ 5.000.000 per insurance year (this is aggregate for all participants)

Excess: € 0 per claim

Business Liability (AVB)

€ 2.500.000 per claim

€ 5.000.000 per insurance year (this is aggregate for all participants)

Excess: € 100 property damage per claim

* If you would like to also take insurance for coaching activities by your business outside the European Union, then here is what you need to do:  your first step is to participate to the collective insurance as a base coverage for the EU. On top of this base insurance, you can ask Kendall Mason for your options to gain supplemental coverage in other regions. This supplement is not arranged for nor pre-funded via ICF Netherlands. It would be a supplemental coverage and premium arranged between Kendall Mason and you / your coaching business.

What Is Covered Under Professional Liability (BAV)?

The policy covers third-party claims for financial loss, property damage, and personal injury, including legal defense costs, arising from:

  • Written breach of contract (whether or not resulting from an error)
  • Negligence or professional error
  • Legal liability resulting from business activities
  • Loss or damage of documents and electronic data
    • Defamation (libel or slander)
    • Reimbursement of own fees if a client withholds payment due to a potential claim

How to Enroll

Download the required forms below, complete them, and send them by email with the subject line “Verzekering BAV” to:

ICF Netherlands will process your application, and will send it to Kendall Mason for the acceptance process. Once accepted, you will then also get further information on your rights and obligations under the policy’

 

Important Conditions for applying for the insurance:

Participation in the collective insurance is only available to:
Active members of ICF Netherlands, who have a coaching business registered in the Netherlands

The insurance is arranged collectively by ICF Netherlands and administered through Kendall Mason. Coverage and claims handling are provided by Hiscox.

Termination and Member Responsibility

Please also note the following applicable rules:

A) It is the responsibility of the participant in the collective insurance policy to cancel their participation in the insurance as soon as they cease to be a member of the International Coaching Federation and/or of the Netherlands Chapter of the International Coaching Federation. 

B) If a participant wants to, or must based on the collective insurance policy rules, cancel for other reasons, such as, but not limited to, retirement, discontinuing the coaching business, or switching to another professional liability insurance policy, it remains the participant’s responsibility to cancel their participation to the collective insurance policy themselves.

C) If a participant terminates their participation in the collective insurance policy, for any reason whatsoever, all existing payment obligations for the applicable insurance year shall remain in full force and effect. The mere fact of termination does not release the participant from any ongoing financial obligations related to the insurance.

Termination of participation in the collective insurance policy must be submitted no later than 30 November of the relevant insurance year and shall release the participant only from future payment obligations.
